I think listening to people's stories is the most informative way to figure out how you can treat your own depression. All the teenagers mentioned a common problem, though. They lie to their parents, and hide things from them. This makes is extremely difficult for parents to notice the symptoms of depression and treat them early enough. Usually, the teen suffers a lot before they will open up to their parents. They have to have their backs against the wall before they will tell them. That is why parents are always worried that their children won't make it through adolescence.
