"A selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, is a medication designed to help increase the amount of serotonin in the synapse by blocking its reabsorption." My favorite articles are about how brain chemicals actually work, how different medications affect each different neurotransmitters, etc. This article does a comprehensive job of explaining how anti depressants work.
