This article made an excellent point: families have to tailor their expectations of the depressed patient. When you suffer from major depression, finishing tasks, earning a living, renovation, any change that puts a dent in the stillness causes the patient great pain. They can't do it. Families have to recognize and praise small accomplishments and reorder their expectations.

Excellent article. It is well written and easy to understand. It covers a lot of different aspects of depression and how to define them. It also has sections to help you know what to ask a therapist and for those who are dealing with a loved one that has depression.
