This was a great resource for anyone questioning the use of depression medication in children, elderly or women considering having children. I would have liked to have seen a more detailed list of medications and its effects (good or bad), however this article did do a good job of naming several of the more popular medications and possible effects. There were some good tips like using a 7 day pill container for the elderly as they are typically the age group that forgets or takes multiple doses of meds. I found the area of children and depression medication very interesting in particular, especially the off-label section. If my children ever do have to put on meds like these I will definitely look for the "safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients" statement. If there had been a link or a chart/table listing more medications and their effects I probably would have given this 5 stars.
This article addresses a very specific and perplexing dilemma when choosing treatment. I'm glad there is such a comprehensive overview out there on how to move forward when treatment kids, pregnant women, and the elderly.
